Redha H. Salman has a Bachelors and a Masters Degree in Chemical Engineering from University of Louisville, the USA, along with a second Masters Degree in Environmental Assessment & Evaluation from London School of Economics & Political Science, the UK.
Redha has been working with Dubai Municipality for more than 23 years and during this period he managed the environment protection & safety section (EPSS) division for more than 15 years. He also played a key role in introducing important programmes such as Air Quality Monitoring System & Network, the first in the region, Industrial Permitting & Inspections Programs and Environmental Impact Assessment of Major Infrastructure, Commercial & Marine developments.
Redha has also played an important role in the establishment of Public Health & Safety Department in 2008, which looks into issues related to environmental, health, public and community safety as well as consumer products safety. He was also the Director of STPs Department that looks into the planning and managing operations of Dubai’s Sewage Treatment Plants.
Currently, Redha is the Director of Health & Safety at Dubai Municipality and is responsible for divisions linked to Occupational Safety, Public Safety and Consumer Products Safety. He has been a member of several high level federal and local government committees, responsible for devising environmental protection, public safety, and environmental health strategies, policies and regulations. He has also served in a number of judiciary committees for environmental awards. Representing Dubai Municipality in many international conferences and seminars by presenting scientific papers and research findings in the areas of air emissions and modelling, regulatory challenges, control efforts and achievements, Redha has been honoured with many awards and recognitions for achievements and roles in the areas of environmental protection, facilities management and sustainability.
