The 2nd Annual Health, Safety & Security Forum 2016 welcomed more than 100 participants from regional and international companies across the UAE. The Forum, organised in association with Dubai Municipality, Abu Dhabi Municipality, Dubai Civil Defence and Abu Dhabi Civil Defence, featured high profile speakers from government and industry. Delegates included representatives of government ministries, public and private companies, and consultants. The event focused on improving safety standards in every sector by bringing together government and policy regulators, contractors and solution providers to share experiences and views to help tackle HSE and fire safety-related challenges across the Middle East.
The highlight of Day 1 was the Mock Court Trial led by local lawyers from Al Tamimi & Co who discussed the legal perceptive in case of an accident in a workplace. Whilst day 2 witnessed the first of-its-kind live Mock Fire Evacuation Drill conducted by the Dubai Civil Defence. Interactive panel discussions on both days focused on mitigating risks and allowed the audience to share innovative ideas and learn from each other’s experience.
Speakers, included Mr. Ibrahim Fahmy, HSE & Marine Manager at ZADCO, Raed Mohammed AlMarzouqi from Dubai Municipality, Dr. Huda Khaleefa Alsalmi from Abu Dhabi City Municipality, Mr. Samir Benmebarek, Drilling, Well Operations and Logistics HSE Manager at ZADCO, Terry Johnson from Dubai Civil Defence HQ and Eng. First Lt Mohamed Alkatheeri from Abu Dhabi Civil Defence.
The goal of this Forum was to enhance HSE function across all sectors by offering a format to benefit HSE leaders and solution providers and offer them insights, case studies, in-depth discussions and practical examples to withstand challenges faced in their respective industries.
