Stewart is a HSE Manager with more than 25 years' experience in HSE in multiple fields, including construction, oil, gas and underground mining. He has worked in West Africa, Kazakhstan and Vietnam but for over 18 years spent his time on various prominent projects in the Middle East. He is currently the corporate HSE Manager for a Design and Construction Supervision Company based in Middle East and with offices in London, South Africa.
Stewart was the Project HSE Manager for a leading construction company in the UAE where he was tasked to support and advice site project teams on all HSE aspects, whilst he was Head of HSE on a gold mine project in southern Greenland, he worked closely with its government to develop HSE regulations for mining. Between 1995 and 2003, Stewart held various remote area medic / HSE Advisor positions globally where he developed occupational health and emergency response procedures, as well as managing a medical clinic of an onshore oil production facility for a major oil and gas producer, in the Sultanate of Oman.
He holds a degree in Occupational Safety, Safety Diploma in Workplace Occupational Health & Safety, a Certificate for Pre-Hospital Trauma Care issued by the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh, and is a certified Lead Auditor for OHSAS 18001 He is also a member of International Safety Quality Environment Management Association. Stewart has spoken at the Big 5 conference 2015 in Kuwait. And had an article published in the Construction news
